DFID Nigeria has developed a programme to enhance access to financial services in Nigeria. The programme is implemented by EFIna and it covers three main themes:

  • Improve the level of credible market information pertinent to financial sector development for regulators and the private sector;

  • Build capacity of financial regulators in Nigeria; and

  • Support innovation in financial services through an Innovation Fund.

FinMark Trust provided technical support to EFIna, with financial support from DFID and Ford Foundation, for the execution of FinScope Nigeria.  FinScope Nigeria will support efforts to increase availability and use of credible financial market information, while also providing the information to guide the capacity building and financial innovation themes.

The survey findings was launched at the end of 2008 and top-line findings are available on EFInA's website: www.efina.org.ng
